Un&Up Awarded NIH Diversity Supplements for Miss Gabrielle Vander Vinne

UN&UP is pleased to announce the awarding of a NIH Diversity Supplement for Ms. Gabrielle VanderVinne under our grant R44NS132605 “Low-Dose Magneto-Thrombolysis to Expand Stroke Care.”

Encouraging diversity through the participation of individuals from underrepresented groups in the scientific research workforce is a key goal of the National Institutes of Health. To promote this effort within small MedTech companies, SBIR/STTR grant awardees have the opportunity to compete for administrative supplements that will assist their businesses in enhancing their workforce diversity by supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Miss VanderVinne joined UN&UP last spring following completion of an engineering internship with our company. Ms. VanderVinne’s supplement will support her efforts to conduct original research as well as funding travel to multiple national and international conferences. Ms. VanderVinne completed a Bachelors in Physics and a Bachelors in Mathematics at Drake University as well as a Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis. In 2023, she received her Masters in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. While an undergraduate, Ms. VanderVinne presented at the 2019 GRASP NMR Symposia.
